Air Operated Double Diaphragms Pumps

PRESENTATION

Air operated double diaphragm pumps (or double diaphragms pumps) are used for the hardest fluids transfert and for a multitude of applications. They are perfect to transfer  very viscous, abrasive or delicate products in so far as the low and adjustable speed of the flow crossing the pump.

They also admit particles suspended in the pumped product.

Those pumps are self-initiating and can work dry without damages, and sometimes they can be immersed. Debit is easily adjustable with the compressed air debit and pression adjustment. This pneumatic energy can be used in explosive environment (ATEX): working exclusively with air and without electricity, those pumps are explosion-proof.

They also have the particularity to can operate without safety valve: in case of closing of the discharge, the pump stops herself and restart when the system is opened.

Moreover, the pneumatic distribution new technologies permit to work without lubrication.

Air operated double diaphragm pumps are easy to move while being robust. For over a half century, they have proven themselves in many applications. Their maintenance, reduced by the diaphragms and valves strongness is very simple and economical.

OPERATION

1. The pneumatic valve admits compressed air on the diaphragm (A) which serves as a separator with the pneumatic circuit et which acts directly on the pumped liquid.

2. The air push on the diaphragm pull also the other diaphragm connected due to the main shaft, creating a vacuum in the chamber, which allows the aspiration valve to open and to the liquid to be aspired.

3. When the opposite diaphragm's piston (B) is to back end of travel and acts on the distributor air diverter, this one admits the air behind the diaphragm (B) still pulling by means of the main shaft the diaphragm (A) which drains her pneumatic circuit by the exhaust.
